OOTD Flash of Neon

As the warmer months creep in, I decided to embrace it with this outfit I wore for my boyfriend’s birthday meal. Statement trousers often become a trend for spring/summer as it is a great way to wear colour or pattern without baring too much skin.

I went for these navy and white striped ones (Zara) as they are the perfect blend of laid back and sophistication. The nautical feel to them and the relaxed shape with elasticated waistband adds to the laidback glamour look.

I wore them with a light t-shirt (French Connection) with Peter Pan collar to keep it simple and slipped on my yellow court shoes for a pop of colour (Kurt Geiger). Brights and neon colours are perfect for spring/summer and when worn with a simple outfit, they can make the look pop.

To make more of a statement, try the Zara trousers in one of their bolder colours like fuchsia and clash with a bright heel or red blouse.2014-04-21 14.40.41

OOTD Easter

After the chocolate and film binge of Easter Sunday, the sunshine and fresh air of Hampstead Heath offered the perfect antidote.

I wore faded boyfriend jeans (Topshop) as a nod to the denim trend this season and because they also work as a transitional piece for spring

/summer.

The floral printed blouse (Zara) added a touch of femininity as it is also a great piece to dress up or down depending on the occasion. Finally, I finished with the blue leopard print loafers (Kurt Geiger).

While the sun is still warming up and there’s threat of April showers, transitional pieces like boyfriend jeans or light blouses are ideal so you’re never caught out.

OOTD Tartan

These silk wide leg trousers (Zara) are the perfect addition to my winter wardrobe with a subtle but classy nod to the punk trend this season.
Instead of fully embracing the trend to the level of kilts and safety pins, pairing these trousers with my leopard print heels and oversized clutch give them the edge they are asking for.

I wore then with the black sleeveless top (River Island) and black leather jacket (All Saints) to complete the look.

Try wearing patterned trousers or leggings to create your version of one of this season’s trends and be bar ready in minutes…

Today I decided to layer a few comfortable tops with a pair of jeans a statement necklace. Going for comfort in Autumnal reds and oranges, I layered an old check shirt from Hollister (I’m sure they still stock similar) under a white knitted sweater from Zara.

I added some gold jewellery including this necklace with a spiked fringe and red cotton stripe to bring out the colours of the shirt underneath and some rings like the spiral one shown (as part of a set from New Look).

OOTD Love Hearts

2013-10-20 18.38

I wore this outfit last week and I love the maroon heat-printed skirt, even more so because it was only £10 from Primark. Its on trend for this autumn with a nod to Burberry’s heart shirts seen on Victoria Beckham and Harry Styles recently. It is also the perfect skirt to dress up or down with the light-weight material great for the evening and easily worn with tights during the day.

The Zara top is one of favourite purchases so far this season as it covers the 50s trend with the stiff large collar and the mustard yellow brightens up any outfit. The material is soft but in with a neoprene feel which creates a more box-y shape.

I wore the skirt and top with some subtle silver jewellery, ankle boots and my hair back to show off the shape of the top and collar.
